As the dust settles on a riveting baseball season, the Ventura County Pirates emerge as a beacon of excellence, showcasing the heart and determination that define their journey. As the flagship team of the Ventura County Pirates baseball club, composed of college-level players, they have left an indelible mark on the field, exemplifying the spirit of competition, camaraderie, and unwavering commitment to the sport.


A Season of Triumphs and Tenacity: The Ventura County Pirates navigated the season with skill and dedication, leaving a trail of victories and memorable moments in their wake. Their performance not only spoke to their prowess but also highlighted their ability to embody the essence of baseball as they competed at the highest level.


Team Records and Notable Achievements: With the final chapter of the season written, the Ventura County Pirates emerged with a commendable 17 wins and 12 losses. Their journey was punctuated by several noteworthy achievements, including their longest winning streak of four games. Demonstrating their consistency, the Pirates achieved this four-win streak on three separate occasions, a testament to their resilience and commitment to maintaining momentum.


Taking their game beyond local fields, the Pirates embarked on a road trip that took them all the way to Wisconsin, showcasing their dedication and the lengths they were willing to go to for the love of the sport.


Batting, Pitching, and Fielding Excellence: The Pirates demonstrated their prowess both at the plate and on the mound. Offensively, they boasted a team batting average of .284, amassing a total of 197 runs. Power at the plate was evident through their 12 team home runs, while their on-base percentage of .395 underscored their disciplined approach and ability to create scoring opportunities.


On the pitching front, the Pirates maintained a collective earned run average (ERA) of 3.862, showcasing their ability to control opposing hitters. Their pitching staff's 233 strikeouts and walks and hits per inning pitched (WHIP) of 1.530 reflected their command on the mound.


In the field, the Pirates showcased their defensive prowess with a team fielding percentage of .938. Their execution of 21 double plays demonstrated their sharpness and strategic acumen.


Recognizing Individual Excellence: The Pirates' success was fortified by standout performances from individual players:

  • Ryan Camacho: Led the team with an outstanding batting average of .400, setting a high standard at the plate.

  • Sean Mann: Eclipsed others as the home run leader with an impressive total of 6 homers and led the team in RBIs with 20.

  • Walter Quinn: Dominated on the pitching mound, racking up 25 strikeouts and establishing himself as the strikeout leader.

  • Chris Lozano, Aiden Melendrez, and Jake Schwartz: Shared the wins leader title with 2 wins each, showcasing their impact on the team's performance.
