On Friday, July 16th the SBL Bucs suffered a rough 14-6 loss against the Field Rats at Valley College.
The Bucs came to an early lead 3-0 after scoring three runs and two shutout innings from Ian Nord. But once Nord came out of the game, things started to get a bit shaky.
“When the game first opened we put up three runs in the first two innings”, I kind of feel like we took our feet off the gas,” Bucs associate head coach Bobby Livingston said.
The Bucs were not able to hold their lead for long as the Field Rats immediately tied the game 3-3.
But things started to turn around for the Bucs in the eighth inning. They started the inning down 7 runs, 10-3 and slowly made their way back into the game scoring three runs and showing some pop. Kai Moran and Anthony Chavez were a major part of this rally each putting up an RBI single.
That hope was very short lived, giving up an extra four runs in the ninth inning to double the previous distance in runs to 14-6.
The Bucs look to end their five game loss streak against the Arroyo Seco Saints on Sunday July 17, 2022 at Valley College at 4:30 pm.
