After a walk-off walk from the GCCL Bucs in the first game of the double header, the Bucs were looking for a three game sweep over the Gold Sox at LA Valley College on Friday, July 22. The Bucs were not able to secure it, taking a 5-1 loss at Valley College.

The Bucs were not able to put strings of hits together, though second baseman Anthony DeLuca stood out from the crowd going 2-3 with a stolen base.

Pitching provided another bright spot for Ventura County, particularly from reliever Logan Tourville. The righty pitched three and a third innings giving up only one earned run, three hits, and no walks. When asked about his team’s performance Coach Ruben Navoa commented on the fact pitching did it’s job for the day.

The GCCL Bucs will next take on the SoCal Saints on Saturday July 26th.
