The GCCL Bucs walked it off in the bottom of the 7th inning to win 5-4 against the PFA Braves in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday Afternoon at Los Angeles Valley College.

The Bucs fell behind early on, with the Braves scoring four runs in the 1st inning to jump out to a 4-0 lead. The Bucs responded by plating a run in the bottom of the 1st, when first baseman Eddie Tejeda scored on an error.

After a scoreless second and third, the Bucs offense came to life in the fourth inning. RHP Justin Pauly, who broadcasted the game in the booth while he was not playing, hit an RBI single to score left fielder Rowan Terran and cut the lead to 4-2. Pauly’s only at bats of the season came on Saturday.

RHP Logan Tourville then scored on a wild pitch and second baseman Anthony Deluca hit an RBI single to score Pauly to even the score up at 4. Tourville pitched all seven innings for the Bucs, recording 6 scoreless frames after the 1st and striking out 5.

“The guy comes out there and throws 81 pitches to get a complete game with a win, you gotta love that type of baseball,” Coach Bobby said.

` In the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs catcher Michael Choi doubled to put the winning run in scoring position. Shortstop Jaden Rez then walked it off with an RBI single to score Choi, completing a 4-run comeback.

The Bucs will take on the Braves in the second game of the doubleheader at 2pm at LAVC in what will also be their final game of the season.
