FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Shea Barry pitched his first Minor League win as a starter today, allowing just two runs in his five innings pitched.
His team, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers (High-A East) swept the Carolina Mudcats in a pair of seven-inning games; the first being originally scheduled for June 20 and made up today. Shea Barry got the start for the first game, and struck out a couple Mudcats along the way to his first "W."
Shea's path to professional baseball runs through the Ventura County Pirates as well as UC Santa Barbara (D-I, Big West). He was drafted in the 22nd round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Houston Astros organization.
