The Ventura County Pirates held their first official practice as a team Saturday at Los Angeles Valley College, and the guys were ready to get to action.
It’s always an adjustment being with your new teammates for the first time, but these Pirates were ready for what’s to come this summer.
As the Pirates are preparing for the season up ahead, all of these players are eager for the opportunity to showcase their talents and improve upon their talents. One thing these players focused on was situational hitting, as well as hitting the baseball to all parts of the field. When asked about his biggest adjustment he’s been trying to make at the plate, Infielder Jacob Rebrook out of Pepperdine University relayed the need for hitting to all fields;
“I’d say the biggest area to work on is my ability to hit to the opposite field with power,” Rebrook explained.
The Pirates will begin this season this upcoming Tuesday, June 7, against the Orange County Riptide at Great Park in Irvine, CA at 6pm. Search “Ventura County Pirates” to catch the broadcast.
