Pirates Riding High
The Ventura County Pirates come into Saturday’s Contest in 1st place in the Best of the West, having clinched a playoff berth, and having gone 16-4 in their last 20 games. With a win, The Pirates will clinch the 1st seed for the Best of West Playoffs.
The Pirates have only lost once at home all season long and are looking to add to a four game win streak by closing out the season strong in their final two games at home. The Pirates are now 17-5 in league play and have a 19-13-1 overall on the season and will look to carry their regular season towards the goal of winning the Best of the West Championship. The Pirates are 2-1 vs the Socal Shepherds on the season, who are currently in fourth place in the league.
Outstanding Pirates
With the regular season nearly coming to a close, the Ventura County Pirates have some of the league’s most outstanding players on their roster. Leading the way offensively is Robbie Treto, who leads the league in home runs by a margin of 4 with 7 home runs. Treto also leads the league in RBI with 26 total on the year. On the mound, Alex Abbott leads the Best of the West in wins with 4 this season. The Camacho twins have also been outstanding for the Pirates all year long, with Ryan Camacho hitting .398 with 15 RBI and Jovan Camacho hitting .333 with 18 RBI this year. Pitcher Deandre Carter has also been an ace all summer long, posting a 2.41 ERA in 33 ½ innings pitched with 20 strikeouts.

They also have not lost consecutive games since June 18 in Alaska, where most of their losses this season and only losing streak took place.
