Public Address Announcer Intern

 

The Ventura County Pirates Baseball Club, a collegiate wood bat summer baseball team playing games at Los Angeles Valley College, in Los Angeles, California, seeks interns with confidence in addressing large crowds, strong vocal skills, and an ability to entertain and inform fans at home games.


Responsibilities
•    Reports directly to the Director of Baseball Operations
•    Make player introductions pre-game, pitching changes and batters announcements
•    Play music between innings and pre- and post-game


Will also run stadium music
•    Make advertiser and sponsorship announcements along with public service announcements
•    Comfortable announcing to crowds of people on a microphone
•    Comfortable announcing phonetically difficult names from a variety of ethnic backgrounds
•    Attend all home games


Preferred Skills
•    Strong vocal talent
•    Unique and definitive personality
•    Strong knowledge of baseball including rules and positions

COMPENSATION

• Stipend - $300.00

• College students can earn college credit. Accepted interns need to pre-arrange with their respective academic departments at their college/university to ensure a specific internship opportunity meets academic credit requirements.

• Meals – Interns will have meals provided when on the road traveling with players.

• Attire – Interns will be provided with team logo apparel to wear at games.
