VC Baseball Club General Manager George Vranau is excited to announce that agreements have been reached with the Alaska Goldpanners and the Humboldt Crabs to travel to Alaska and Humboldt County respectively in 2018. “When the opportunity arose for our players to play teams with the kind of summer collegiate baseball history that they have, it was just too much to pass up,” said Vranau.
The first road trip will be to Fairbanks, Alaska, from July 11-18, to play 7 games including a double header on July 15th with the Alaska Goldpanners. In its rich team history, the Goldpanners have had over 200 former players make it to MLB rosters.
Two days after returning home from Alaska, the team will hit the road again and this time to Humboldt County in Northern California to play a 3 game weekend series on July 20-22 with the Humboldt Crabs. The Crabs play at historic Arcata Ball Park and 2018 will be the club’s 74th season.
