Pro-Am League Playoff Recap: Pro-Am Bucs


The Pro-Am Bucs embarked on an exhilarating journey through the playoffs, aiming to etch their name in the annals of the Pro-Am League history. Coming in as the second seed in the league, the Pro-Am Bucs entered the playoffs with their eyes set on championship glory.


Game 1: A Thrilling Opening Victory


The playoffs kicked off on Monday, July 24th, with the Pro-Am Bucs facing off against the SoCal Sliders. In a game that had fans on the edge of their seats, the Pro-Am Bucs emerged victorious with a narrow 9-8 win.


The momentum swung back and forth throughout the game, with the Pro-Am Bucs exhibiting remarkable resilience. After taking an early 1-0 lead in the second inning, the Bucs found themselves in a tight battle as the SoCal Sliders fought back. However, the Bucs rallied, scoring a plethora of crucial runs in the 6th and 7th innings, and clinching the victory with a nail-biting 9th-inning run.


Carson Panarisi's standout performance saw him score two runs, two hits, and 2 RBIs, including two doubles. Brodie Romero also made his mark with two runs, one hit, and 1 RBI. On the mound, Moses Escobedo's stellar pitching efforts were evident as he struck out an impressive 12 batters over seven innings of play.


Game 2: A Hard-Fought Battle


On Wednesday, July 26th, the Pro-Am Bucs faced the Long Beach Legends in a game that pushed their limits. Despite a valiant effort, the Bucs fell short, with the Legends securing a 9-7 win.


The Legends maintained an early lead, putting pressure on the Pro-Am Bucs from the onset. While the Bucs showcased their fighting spirit, narrowing the score at various points, they were unable to overcome the Legends' dominance. Andrew Sharp's performance stood out, highlighted by a home run, two hits, and 2 RBIs. Zach Mora also demonstrated his baseball prowess, contributing one run, two hits, and 1 RBI.


Game 3: Seizing Victory in Extra Innings


In a high-stakes matchup against the L.A. Legends on the same day, the Pro-Am Bucs showcased their vigor and indefatigability. The Bucs emerged victorious with a thrilling 8-7 win in extra innings.


The game was a seesaw battle, with both teams trading blows. The L.A. Legends took an early lead, but the Bucs fought back, showcasing their offensive prowess with three runs in the 4th inning. The game went into extra innings, and the Bucs came through when it mattered most, scoring three runs in the 10th inning to secure a hard-fought victory.


Andrew Sharp continued to shine, hitting another home run and accumulating two runs, three hits, and 1 RBI. Troy May's performance was also noteworthy, with one run, one hit, and 2 RBIs.


This win advanced the Pro-Am Bucs to play against the Long Beach Legends in the Pro-Am League championship game.


Game 4: A Challenging Championship Finale


In the championship showdown, on Thursday, July 27th, the Pro-Am Bucs faced the Long Beach Legends in a rematch. Despite their best efforts, the Bucs fell short in a 16-7 defeat.


The Bucs came out strong, scoring early runs, but the Legends' powerful offensive display shifted the tide of the game. A formidable 8-run 4th inning by the Legends proved to be a turning point, and despite the Bucs' efforts to rally, they were unable to overcome the Legends' dominance.


Rider Gordon and Andrew Sharp stood out in this game, but the Bucs' 8 errors ultimately hindered their chances of a comeback.


Reflecting on the Journey


While the Pro-Am Bucs' playoff journey came to an end, their determination, growth, and resilience were evident throughout their campaign. The team showcased their ability to perform under pressure, rally together, and deliver standout individual performances. Despite facing challenges and setbacks, the Pro-Am Bucs can look back on their playoff run with pride, knowing they gave it their all.
