GCCL Bucs Secure 2-0 Victory over CV Baseball in Stellar Defensive Showcase



Pasadena, CA - In an evening matchup on Sunday, June 25th, the GCCL Bucs faced off against CV Baseball at Stengel Field. This game followed a morning loss against the Malibu Marlins, intensifying the Bucs' determination to bounce back. With a 4-5 record, the Bucs looked to regain winning momentum.


The final score of the game stood at 2-0, with the Bucs winning. Their stellar defensive performance kept CV Baseball off the scoreboard throughout the game. This showcased the team's resilience and skill and highlighted their ability to shut out opposing batters.


Mariano McClean stood out as the key player in the game for the Bucs. He delivered an exceptional performance with two hits that drove in both runs for the Bucs. McClean's contributions proved pivotal in the victory. Shortstop Daniel Munoz also had a notable impact, contributing a hit and scoring a run to support the team's offensive efforts.


Pitching was a standout feature of the game, with Deon Sylvester taking the mound for the Bucs and delivering a remarkable performance. Sylvester pitched for 5 innings, allowing 2 hits, no runs, and no walks. AJ Naha stepped in as a key reliever, throwing for 2 innings without allowing a hit or run. Naha walked 2 batters but also recorded 2 strikeouts, adding to the Bucs' strong pitching display.


The Bucs' defense was on full display, committing only 2 errors throughout the game. They held CV Baseball to just 2 hits and no runs. The team's solid defensive efforts were complemented by their disciplined approach at the plate, drawing 2 walks while striking out 4 times.
